ideas

I've been mulling over a few different ideas to get my creativity flowing and help my muse find her way home! I think I am going go pick a few different types of "challenges" from Pinterest---photography, reading, gratitude...

I'm hoping I can do something from each of these lists every week.

it's kind of funny, I wanted a laptop because I wanted to start writing again, but after not having one for almost 3 years it's difficult to pick it back up again. I do not miss things like social media, still too much negativity around and I have no desire to revisit some of my old haunts. but this will be a new start even if I don't fully get this going until the new year. Practice will make as perfect as I can be!!

new goals

going to try something different, well different for me. I love taking pictures; I am almost never without my camera nearby. I also love Pinterest and on that site I've created a board with "Photo Challenges". Most of these are for taking 1 picture each day of  the month and then posting them. Well, with my work schedule that's too much currently, so I'm going to adapt the rules. I plan on picking a photo challenge and with in the month taking the pictures. I'm going to do a test run in December, so for week 1, I'll take pictures 1 to 7 and week 2, 8 to 14...get the idea? I'll post them here in my blog and create a facebook album as well. Anyone else up to the challenge??

Here's an example, I did this Disney Photo Challenge a few weeks ago!!

26 days and counting

We're 26 days into the new year and just a few days away from my favorite month of the entire year (more on that next month)

I'm trying to blog everyday, so far I've only missed one day. I am hoping that writing in this blog will stir my creative juices and jump start my fictional writing as well. I have started re writing my favorite story, the characters rebelled and wanted a much different but similar story about them.

I have also been posting quotes about gratitude everyday on Facebook and then adding what I am grateful for. I'm going to continue to post quotes adding in others about hope, faith, compassion, being positive. I guess this is my way of paying it forward and staying grounded.

I am trying to stay on track, doing things to be a better person, a better me; eating right, being positive, trying to not get upset at work.

Only time will tell if I'm successful, so much for not making resolutions, guess I have after all...

Sunday, January 6, 2013

As a new week begins I am taking time to reflect on the week just ending...

A new year has begun and it wasn't smooth or without problems; but by weeks end the earlier issues were under control and new "problems" surfaced in the face of a cream colored tom cat named Gus and a nasty abscess on his chest, let's just say the Gus loves being an outdoor cat free to do as he pleases and a mini satellite dish around his neck is not his idea of fun!

Spent the afternoon watching the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Les Miserables. All I can say is wow! Never been a big fan of Russell Crowe but he was great, Hugh Jackman was wonderful. The casting was perfect.

I've said before I don't make resolutions but I'm going to try and make some attainable goals in various areas of my life...stay tuned...

Brand New Year

Let me start by saying I do not make New Years Resolutions! I hate those damn things, it's like setting yourself up to fail! But I do set goals, sure its just semantics!

I'm going to try to get my act together; which includes eating better and more exercise and blogging more...

ok, that's enough for a start!!
