February 9, 1913 may not mean anything to anyone but the members of my mom's side of the family, this is the day my grandfather, Ludwig Albert Wolf was born. He was first generation Hungarian American born to Maria and Lagos (Ludwig) Wolf in New York. He spoke Hungarian until he went to school at the age of 6.
He was fire chief of the Levittown fire department when I was born, just what this father of 3 girls wanted when he found out his oldest was expecting, hopes for a boy dashed when I arrived, another girl. But he loved me just the same. He read Peter Pan to me, took me sledding and made me laugh. He was there when I graduated high school and college. As far as I'm concerned he was the best grandfather a kid could ask for, he was mischievous and fun. I know he was far from perfect; tales from my mother are proof but by the time the grandchildren started to arrive he'd mellowed and for that I am eternally grateful.
Happy 100th birthday Grandpa!!!

oops
I love acapella singing groups; my current
favorite is Straight No Chaser. I wasn’t in the best of moods when I got home,
just another frustrating day. First I watched the season premiere of Smash, yes
music, but that wasn’t enough because the next episode is 2 weeks away which
makes no sense since they just had the season premiere, sounds like another
ranting blog coming, but I digress, I needed another pick me up and went to
YouTube with the intent of finding a video for SNC and the first thing that
popped up was a SNC thank you message from them to their fans in the UK…digressing
again, this video combines some of my favorite things, TV theme songs and SNC!

Yes, it's an addiction and the actual act of pinning will not make me gain weight. I can have all the horses, dogs, cats, bunnies, cupcakes, hearts, stars, recipes, self help tips, craft ideas, dresses, jewelry I want! I can like quotes, colors, cars, houses, decorating ideas, places to visit. I can just look at what others find interesting. I can dream...

Cookies
Growing up I was exposed all types of cookies. My Grandmother loved cookies, my father loved cookies and I learned to adore cookies...
Vanilla wafers, sugar wafers, fig newtons, homemade chocolate chip cookies, Christmas spritz cookies, Oreos, Nutter Butter...
As I got older I wanted Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies that eventually morphed into Dark Chocolate Milano, there are those damn elves and their pecan sandies, magic middles, fudge stripes and the best comfort cookies and a big glass of milk, the Oreo...
Then I bought a Pizzelle maker! love them!
And most recently my all time fav came out with many varieties and I never thought I leave my good old Oreo but Nabisco made the Double Stuff Golden Oreo!!! I don't even need milk with it!!

Reading
I pledged to read 20 books this year on Goodreads at the beginning of the year, well, I've already read 7.
Yeah, I upped it to 30.
I am always reading, I listen to books on CD in my car, I have my kindle and the old stand by books from the library. I revisit favorite books, which I won't count. Old books are like old friends and I can't give them up!
I finished another book today, an old friend, "This Heart of Mine", I absolutely love this book and read it whenever I want to feel good. To be honest, I love all of Susan Elizabeth Phillips books. Her heroines give me hope and I like that.

Sleep...
Oh well, I suppose it's going to happen every once in a while.
I didn't blog last night, actually I thought I did but there was some wine involved with dinner last night, a very nice wine...wine can at times make me sleepy and I think it did last night.
I also have to realize that it is not the end of the world if I don't but words to paper and post it here, blogging daily is a goal and to be honest my mind is constantly thinking of things to write about and the worst part is many of those times I don't have anyway to write anything down, very frustrating that I'll be driving home from work and get a great idea and by the time I get home I've forgotten it!
But I'll keep trying...
